Dear Colleagues,
It is with deep sadness that we learned of Amos Bairoch’s sudden passing
on November 29, 2025.
For all of us who had the privilege of knowing and working with him over
the years, this news is devastating.
Amos was a true visionary—warm, generous, and always ready
to help. Although he had recently focused more on cell lines through the
creation of Cellosaurus, the world of proteins remained his lifelong
passion. He had a rare gift for connecting people and disciplines, and
we owe him so much, both personally and as a scientific community. He
will be profoundly missed.
Let us remember his kindness, his enthusiasm, and his independent
spirit. May these continue to inspire us in the years to come.
